... year of the tiger
16 Mar 10

Looks like I got a new fetish. Hate going for groceries. But it’s like public transportation; you avoid taking it at home but abroad it becomes fun. It’s the same with supermarkets. In the village I found this half empty one. I go there everyday to check if it’s still half empty it looks so serene.

It’s hard to find anybody in the western hemisphere that’s more superstitious than me. Must be because of my catholic upbringing, although the religious part didn’t really rub off on me. I saw these tiger socks and thought they would be a fine first Chinese gift for myself.
A friend told me people celebrate their animal year. Which means if you’re born the year of the tiger -2010 is also a year of the tiger- you either have a really good year or a bad year, nothing in between. To make it a good year people wear all sorts of reds things.
And now I find myself always picking the red version when buying things.
You also see a lot of kiddo’s wearing tiger outfits.
