Lola (Tagalog/ Filipino for grandmother) has a beautiful collection of photo albums. Some containing very old pictures. It’s a great document of the family during the last 80 years.
-An outburst of mount Mayon seen from Cagsawa, which history has proven a very dangerous place to be during an eruption. In 1814 1200 people got buried alive by lava flow when sheltering in the church at Cagsawa.
-Botany class at Legaspi jr college
-Two kids dressed up as Batman
-A group picture of third grade teachers from Legaspi city
according to the text in the bottom photo, that pic was taken in malacaƱang palace, which is the residence of the president of the philippines. in 1951 when the photo was taken, that was president ramon magsaysay. which makes some sense since, according to wikipedia: “during his term, he made malacaƱang palace literally a ‘house of the people’, opening its gates to the public.” or in this case, third grade teachers from legaspi!
ah magsaysay was a president, no wonder a lot of places such as streetnames are named after him!
